About the plan

A low-overhead operating model by design.

This is Connect.IO Ltd's first formal Carbon Reduction Plan and organisational greenhouse gas emissions assessment. The 2025/26 reporting period is therefore also used as the company's baseline period.

Connect.IO Ltd is the UK company behind IOblend. We are a small technology business operating predominantly through remote working and digital delivery.

Premises No permanent company-controlled office. A virtual office is used for the registered business address.
Workforce Two employees operating predominantly through remote working.
Infrastructure No company-operated manufacturing facility, warehouse or physical data centre.
Delivery Software, documentation and professional services are principally delivered digitally.

The organisational boundary reflects emissions associated with activities under Connect.IO Ltd's operational control and the Scope 3 categories required for Carbon Reduction Plan reporting.

Why Scope 1 and Scope 2 are zero

Connect.IO Ltd does not own or operate company vehicles, boilers, generators, manufacturing equipment or permanent company-controlled premises, and does not directly purchase electricity, heating, steam or cooling for business premises.

03

Business travel

Our principal measurable emissions source.

Business travel represents the principal measurable source of greenhouse gas emissions within the current operating model.

One return long-haul economy-class flight
1.332 tCO₂e
National Rail business travel
0.158 tCO₂e
Approx. 2,000 miles by privately owned diesel car
0.556 tCO₂e

Calculation methodology

Emissions have been estimated using applicable UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors for company reporting. Air travel is classified as long-haul economy travel. Rail emissions are calculated using passenger-distance data, and car travel using the applicable diesel vehicle mileage factor.

04

Reduction targets

Maintain the low-carbon model as we grow.

Connect.IO Ltd already operates with a very small direct operational footprint. Our focus is therefore on preserving this model while reducing avoidable Scope 3 emissions as the business develops.

01

Maintain zero Scope 1

Avoid introducing fossil-fuel-consuming assets into direct operations wherever reasonably practical.

02

Remote-first operation

Continue operating without unnecessary permanent premises and routine employee commuting.

03

Reduce avoidable travel

Use remote collaboration where appropriate and favour lower-carbon transport for necessary business travel.

04

20% reduction by 2031

Target a 20% reduction in controllable Scope 3 emissions per employee against the 2025/26 baseline, subject to business activity.

05

Carbon reduction measures

Measures already embedded in the business.

  • Remote-first working with no routine commute to a permanent corporate office.
  • Virtual office rather than dedicated commercial premises.
  • Digital delivery of software, documentation and professional services.
  • Extensive use of video conferencing and online collaboration.
  • No company vehicle fleet.
  • No company-controlled physical data centre.
  • Predominantly paperless contracts, documentation and business administration.
  • Business travel reviewed for necessity, with lower-carbon alternatives used where practical.

Future measures

Connect.IO Ltd will review its organisational carbon footprint annually, systematically record business travel, use applicable UK Government conversion factors, extend the useful life of IT equipment where appropriate and use compliant recycling routes for obsolete electronic equipment.
